Hi,

So, I asked myself “what makes a good weekly challenge?”

   • it’s fair – meaning all level ranges need to have equal chances
   • it’s unique – meaning it cannot be used by other fansites as a challenge or contest
   • it’s not too easy, not too hard – some effort must be put into the challenge in order to earn points, however it must be done within 10min or so, otherwise people will not bother
   • it’s diverse – meaning each week, there should be something about this challenge that makes it different
   • it’s binary – meaning the challenge is either completed or not – it cannot be a subject of interpretation, art taste etc.
   • it’s conclusive – meaning if 100 people do 52 tasks in a year, there cannot be 100 winners, there must be some extra points system
   • it’s available – meaning everyone must have the opportunity to participate, it cannot be “the first one to do it wins” coz of times zones, work, school and life in general – it also means no quest zones, raids, mini world changes etc.
   • it’s individual – meaning the first submission cannot be just copied by next contestants
     

So I came up with an idea:


Sum up: each week there are specific amounts of selected creatures to take a screenshot with and post it on forum.

There are 2 versions of this challenge:

#1 Version

Each week CasalTibiano admin posts details about the creatures and amounts – it could look like this*:




The task is to take a screenshot with the selected creatures in your lvl range. The Amount column shows the minimum and maximum amount of the creatures that can be in your screenshot. The minimum amount gives you 10 points, 2 next creatures give you 1 point each – it means there is a total of 12 points to gain each week.

Rules:
   • Your nickname must be visible on the photo (staff will verify your level)
   • There cannot be another creature, or more than the maximum amount of selected creatures, nor familiar in the screenshot (that’s the main difficulty of the task) – example, first u will have to kill all Lamassu running with Sphinxes to take the photo
   • There cannot be another player visible on the photo (it’s a solo task)
   • All creatures must be alive (they can be trapped or behind closed door)
   • The screenshot must show all visible SQMs in Tibia (no cuts)
   • You must use one character for all challenges (If you lost or sold your character during the year, you must inform the staff about the character change, and request points transfer to avoid people getting your points)
   • if you plan to grind levels, and you may exceed the maximum level range before your screenshot is verified – best show your current level on the picture

#2 Version

Those challenges will have some pros and cons. Staff will have to verify through tibia com the level of the contestants (if the level is not shown already on the picture, if it’s visible – check it “more or less” to avoid editing the 1000lvl to 100lvl), once it’s verified – inform the contestant by giving the post a “like”. Creatures chosen each week will have to be thought through to make them accessible (no falcons, no cobras, no sandstone scorpions) and they also will have to be in a similar environment in similar amounts (all creatures must be possible to be gathered in a single place in a similar amount – and all ranges must have similar neighboring creatures – War Golems do not have other creatures nearby so they will be much easier to take the photo with, so maybe compensate that with a higher amount). Nonetheless, I strongly believe in this project, because it does comply with all the “what makes a good weekly challenge?” points.

Durante a realização do presente concurso, analisamos exaustivamente cada uma das quase 70 submissões postadas em nosso Fórum. O volume imenso de propostas encaminhadas pelos concorrentes dificultaram sobremaneira a vida de todos os integrantes da nossa equipe. Devemos dizer que não foi fácil tomar uma decisão, mas agora o pódio está formado e o Love Elixir será o grande representante do Casal Tibiano dentro do jogo. Como sempre, queremos expressar a nossa profunda e eterna gratidão a todos os participantes pelo empenho e dedicação investidos!
